Dental Implants Abroad

A titanium or zirconia post placed in the jaw to replace a missing tooth root, topped later with a crown.

What it is

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. The post is placed in the bone, the bone is given time to heal around it, and a crown is attached. Some patients also need extractions or bone grafting first.

How many trips to expect

Implants are usually done in stages. Many patients need one trip to place the implant and a later trip for the final crown, because the bone needs time to heal in between. Ask the clinic for its timeline in writing.

Ask before you book

  • Who will do the treatment, and what is their license number?
  • What exactly is included in the price, and what could be added later?
  • What happens, and who pays, if something needs to be redone?
  • How will my dentist at home get the records, X-rays and material details?
  • Which implant brand and system will be used, and can a dentist at home service it?
  • Will I need bone grafting, and is that included?

The quote should list

  • Consultation and imaging (X-ray or CBCT scan)
  • Extractions, if any
  • Bone graft, if any
  • Implant post
  • Abutment
  • Final crown and material
  • Temporary teeth
  • Follow-up visits

This is general information, not dental advice. A dentist who examines you is the only one who can say what treatment you need.
